The annual Publishing Business Conference and Expo was founded in 1997 and has itself evolved along with the publishing industry into what has become the must-attend event for the entire industry. The event is held each March in New York City—the publishing capital of the world—drawing thousands of professionals from all areas of publishing.
This major publishing event brings you dozens of sessions specifically geared toward book publishing executives, as well as issues unique to magazine publishing. Expanded programming examines solutions to publishing’s biggest challenges today. See, test and compare more than 100 leading suppliers from all corners of the industry. At the 2008 show, 71% of expo attendees found new prospective vendors at the show. Don’t miss your opportunity to learn, shop, network and be inspired! Reserve March 23-25 on your calendar and register today!
Speakers for the Publishing Business Conference are carefully selected by the editors of Publishing Executive and Book Business magazine. Speaker slots are not sold to vendors participating in the expo; rather, the session topics are determined by the magazine’s editors (with heavy consideration given to the feedback offered by attendees at the prior year’s event), and only the most expert and accomplished industry professionals are personally invited to present. The majority of our speakers are from publishing organizations of all sizes and types, enabling our attendees to learn from companies similar to their own.
Many past attendees have commented that they enjoy the diverse session formats. (To check out some of what attendees had to say, click on the “Attendee Comments” button.) Some sessions feature three- or four-person panels dissecting and debating a specific topic. Other sessions are led by one “expert” who presents a thorough case study.
All conference sessions are designed with the input of our Conference Advisory Board consisting of the following leading industry professionals:
• Alex Brown, Founder, Printmark
• Steve Frye, President and CEO, Frye Publication Consulting
• Michael Healy, Executive Director, Book Industry Study Group
• John Morse, President and Publisher, Merriam-Webster Inc.
